How Do I Register for the Triangle Forum?

A number of people have mentioned that they have been having some difficulty registering for the Triangle Forum. Below is a quick tutorial on the registration process.

1. The first step in the process is to click through to the Triangle Forum homepage (tip - If you're using a browser such as firefox or opera you can right click on the link and select "Open In New Tab". This will open the Forum homepage in a separate tab while keeping this page open, allowing you to reference this tutorial while going through the registration process)
Once at the Forum homepage you will see a button near the top center of the page labeled "Register". Click this button to proceed with registration.

2 - Next you see a Terms and Conditions page. It's all pretty straight forward, but as with anything you should read it before agreeing. If you agree click on the "I Agree to these terms" link at the bottom of the page.

3. This will take you to the signup page. Here you are asked for a user name, a valid email address (this is important as you will recieve an account activation email at this address which must be opened before your account can be activated) and a password.

4. You will now be asked to confirm the password you entered in step 3.

5. Your account has now been created and and activation email has been sent to the address entered in step 3. Some people using free webmail services like hotmail have experienced problems with the activation email being treated as spam. To avoid this you should add forumotion.com (the host of the forum) to your greenlist to allow any messages through to your inbox.

6. You will receive an activation email pretty well straight away to the address entered in step 3. The email will contain confirmation of your username and password as well as an activation link. Click the activation link.

7. You will now be taken back to the Triangle Forum homepage where you will see a username and password box. Enter the details in the activation email and click "Login"

That's it! You are now logged in to the Triangle Forum. Look around, leave a post. Let others know how you're going and share your information. If you've had any problems with the process drop me an email at camn@ihug.com.au and i'll see if i can help you out.
